DJs Who Won’t Stop the Beat

Music can make or break a wedding or event, and the DMV has no shortage of talented DJs and full-service entertainment agencies. Here are five worth a look, from boutique DJ collectives to decades-old talent agencies.

MyDeejay

Based in Ellicott City, MD and founded in 2003 by Evan Reitmeyer, MyDeejay has built its reputation on a client-first model: couples meet and interview their assigned DJ before signing a contract, and that specific DJ — not a stand-in — performs at the wedding. The company has DJed over 3,000 weddings across the Baltimore-Washington region, offers flat-rate, all-inclusive pricing for weddings up to 300 guests, and backs every event with an emergency backup system. It's a solid choice for couples who want predictability and a polished, "never-cheesy" style.

Summit Events

Founded by Ben Savory, Summit Events is a DJ and photobooth company serving DC, Maryland, Virginia, and destination weddings, with a roster of 10+ DJs. Beyond core DJ/MC service, they offer live bands, string ensembles, uplighting, staffed digital photo booths, and even a restored vintage camper that doubles as a photobooth or mobile bar. Every package includes a 1:1 consultation and access to a planning app for building out music and timelines with your DJ. These folks are some of my very favorite in the biz!

Washington Talent

A long-running Rockville-based agency (est. 1967) representing a large bench of DJs, MCs, bands, and photographers across the DMV. Washington Talent is known for having more wedding DJ options than most competitors, including hybrid DJ/live-musician acts, and its DJs are frequently praised for reading a crowd and keeping guests of all ages on the floor. It's a good fit for couples who want an agency with deep bench strength and the flexibility to add live music, photography, or video alongside a DJ.

DJ Tezrah

Now in her thirteenth year as a DC-area DJ, Tezrah blends Top 40, EDM, hip hop, and remixes into high-energy sets, and brings a resume that includes headlining the 9:30 Club, DJing for the WNBA's Washington Mystics, and performing at the White House for the Respect for Marriage Act signing. She's earned multiple WeddingWire Couples' Choice Awards and Washingtonian Weddings "Best Vendor" honors. She's a strong pick for couples who want a personality-driven, high-energy dance floor rather than a background soundtrack. For those couples prioritizing a female DJ or just a damn good time, DJ Tezrah is who you want!

Bialek's Music

A Rockville-based talent agency that has been part of the DC entertainment scene for more than 40 years, Bialek's represents a large team of DJs alongside bands, string ensembles, soloists, and photo booth and uplighting services — making it a true one-stop shop for event entertainment. The agency books more than 2,000 weddings and events annually and has been named Washingtonian Magazine's #1 talent agency for over 20 years running. Their DJs are consistently reviewed for professionalism and smooth, well-paced MCing throughout a wedding timeline.

Whether you want a boutique DJ with a signature sound or a full-service agency that can bundle music, lighting, and photo booths under one roof, these five cover the range of what the DMV has to offer.
